In mid May 2013, a gold mine in the Preah Vihear province of Cambodia collapsed, killing at least seven miners. Villagers have been warned against mining in the Vietnamese run mine, but fail to listen in hopes of striking gold. Villagers and migrant workers work almost 24 hours a day in the mines located in the mountains and sifting through the pools in the village.
